Behavior Modification for Dogs That Gets Results

At Erica Lake Dog Training of Los Angeles, California, my philosophy in providing behavior modification for dogs is to make training focus on everyday living. The one-on-one obedience training system I use focuses on motivation, prompt feedback, and consistency. No two dogs are alike, making it vital to use an approach that takes into account where your pet is, in terms of behavior, and your specific goals. When we work together, I will answer every question you have and provide support through emailed homework assignments.

Open Communication and Respect

By building mutual respect based upon communication methods that have been shown to work, I am able to help your dog understand what is expected of him. I don't resort to negative actions.

Humane Training

Under no circumstances will I consider using any technique or item that may cause your dog pain, like choke chains, pinch collars, or shock collars. Pain-based training does not train your dog to do the right thing; it just trains them that doing the wrong thing causes pain. By focusing on humane, positive training I am able to motivate your dog to improve in the desired areas of behavior.

Motivational Tools

By using items that dogs enjoy, such as treats and favored toys, as well as praise, I can create the incentive to engage in positive behaviors. After some time, your dog will associate the positive behavior with enjoyment and engage in it more often.
